Fernando‘s Café is one of Haslett’s best places to start the day. This comfortable, homey dining room is positioned within the heart of town, making it easily accessible from all Haslett neighborhoods. El Oasis is one of Haslett’s favorite Mexican eateries, served from an unsuspecting food truck. The menu is small and simple but packs a punch of flavor with their authentic barbacoa, al pastor, and other Mexican specialties.
For proper sit-down meals, locals frequent The Watershed Tavern and Grill. Guests come for the boom boom shrimp, smothered mac and cheese, and loaded sandwiches, but they stay for the larger-than-life Bloody Mary selections. A separate menu allows customers to add onion rings, cheeseburger sliders, bacon, and grilled cheese sandwiches, which are far more unique than traditional stuffed olives.
Lansing‘s nearness to the Great Lakes allows local restaurants to enjoy fresh seafood every day of the week, and Blue Gill Grill takes advantage of this. Fish tacos, fresh grouper, and fish and chips keep this menu on theme, with freshly baked pizzas and grade “A” steaks offering some diversity to the menu.
